IND vs BAN Statistical Preview: Virat Kohli, R Ashwin eye major feats in Kanpur

India and Bangladesh will lock horns in the second Test of the two-match series, starting Friday, September 27 at the Green Park in Kanpur. Rohit Sharma’s men are already 1-0 up in the series, having won the opening game by 280 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Ravi Ashwin was the show’s star after scoring a hundred and picking up a five-wicket haul on his home-ground.
Ravindra Jadeja also played a handy role with the bat in the first innings after which he lent Ashwin support with the ball. Yashasvi Jaiswal also made a gutsy half-century when India lost quick wickets in the first innings. For Bangladesh, fast bowler Hasan Mahmud was impressive after he became the first Tigers’ bowler to take a five-wicket haul in Tests on Indian soil.
Taijul Islam didn’t get a chance in the first Test and it remains to be seen if Bangladesh bring in their premier spinner for the must-win contest. Shakib Al Hasan hasn’t been in the best of form, but would be expected to play freely after announcing his retirement from Test cricket. India, on the other hand, might give either Axar Patel or Kuldeep Yadav a chance given the playing conditions in Kanpur.
