New Page 1This is a complete, or nearly complete, collection of USA Today’s
Baseball Weekly
periodicals. I can’t promise you that it isn’t missing a couple of issues. The periodicals were published for about a decade beginning in the early ‘90s. When the Internet reduced its relevance and made advertising dollars hard to get, it devolved into
Sports Weekly
. The early issues of
Sports Weekly
are included. I also have one extra binder I can include. Each binder holds approximately half a year of issues. The binders cost about 0.
In spite of its name,
Baseball Weekly
was originally published bi-weekly. It quickly became successful enough to become a weekly. Every issue is in a tabloid newspaper format. The periodical’s great strength was the amount of coverage it had of each team, including articles, news, injuries and status, box scores, and statistics. It’s a terrific research tool, but I think my baseball research days are behind me.
The binders are in excellent condition and the issues are all readable. They are not in pristine collectable condition. I frequently read them during lunch hours and used them as umbrellas going into places to eat.
The collection weighs in the vicinity of 250 pounds, which makes shipping impractical. eBay and PayPal charge commissions on shipping fees. As a result, I have to limit the sale to buyers who are willing to pick up the collection in person.
