  • Condition: Each caster consists of a rubber wheel, 2 round steel plates, and a steel yoke or fork with pin. Originally, all steel parts were chrome plated, however, much of the plating wore off leaving them with a nice, distressed finish. The casters are about 40 - 50 years old. At the point of salvage, the casters were filthy and tarnished (see last photo). Since then, we disassembled them, cleaned all parts to the best of our ability, and then put them back together, spraying grease in and around the king pin (wheel axel) and in the ball-bearing joint in between the yoke/fork & pin. There are still spots of rust here and there, but that just augments the aged, distressed look of the casters. The rubber wheels have chips and scrapes, however, that's what makes them cool and one-of-a-kind! Their structural integrity is very much intact. All of the steel parts are in great shape with no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, or heavy scratches. READ FULL DESCRIPTION BELOW**

Set of 4 Cleaned 4" Vintage Casters
What a cool find! Big, heavy-duty, vintage casters salvaged from Southeastern Pennsylvania. Each caster consists of a rubber wheel, 2 round steel plates, and a steel yoke or fork with pin. Originally, all steel parts were chrome plated, however, much of the plating wore off leaving them with a nice, distressed finish.
We found the wheels on a bar cart that we attempted to work on. The cart was in bad shape, and it didn't take long for us to realize that it was too far gone to salvage and still make any profit on it. However, we did save the best parts of the cart!
All movable parts move easily and smoothly. These are ready for another lifetime of service!
